This week we decided to try an experiment.
How fast could we get to the top of the search engines using a chosen key phrase?
So Monday evening, February 23rd, we chose the key phrase “growing pink roses in Colorado” to work with. I created a screen shot of Google to show placement and results.
Then on Tuesday morning, February 24th, I created my blog post entitled, “Growing Pink Roses In Colorado”.
From there I started watching Google to find out how quickly my blog post would be posted into Google. And as of this morning, Friday February 27th, I received #1 ranking in Google.
So what impact does this have on your business?
The idea behind blogging is to write on dozens of different topics, all targeted towards specific niches or clients. Every client you have has a different interest, and will contact you and buy your products or services because of that interest and how you fulfill their need.
With a traditional website, you may only have a page or two covering all of your services. But with a blog, you can have dozens of pages each speaking to a specific interest or need.
And with your blog, especially if you have a very specific key phrase you’re targeting, you can be into the search engines – and in the number one position – in a matter of hours.
So just as I captured #1 in Google with Growing Pink Roses in Colorado in under 72 hours, I could just as easily capture:
- Growing Orange Roses In Colorado
- Growing Purple Roses In Colorado
- Growing White Roses In Colorado
And so on.
And if I had one prospect contact me each week for the next year on each of those key phrases, you can see how quickly my business would grow.
So my question to you is:
Are you ready to start blogging?
