Blog To The World
Filed Under How To Blog | Leave a Comment
Blogging isn’t about talking to your next door neighbor or to the person who lives within driving distance. Blogging is about sharing your ideas with people anywhere in the world.
Blogging is a powerful platform that allows anyone to enter your site on a particular post, and begin developing a relationship with you immediately. If they resonate you, you may instantly have a follower.
But keep in mind that you may be able to offer information to someo
ne that would have no other way of connecting with you other than online.
I happen to live in Denver, Colorado, USA. I have followers from every corner of the world, including Australia, Turkey, Canada, and England. So when I write my post, I not only talk about the things in my life, but I also keep in mind that my readers may not understand certain local items. If I need to explain further or use photos to describe something, I spend the time necessary to create a meaningful post.
Take a look at what you write. Can anyone understand your post without needing phrases or words defined? Can they use your information in their own lives … anywhere in the world?
If not, spend a few extra minutes telling people how to use your information. Give them a point, or a moral, to your stories.
This will not only make you a better writer (and better post creator), but also better at marketing your business .

One of the biggest concerns a busy business owner has when we discuss blogging is the time factor. When do you have time to blog every single day? That’s a great question from someone who’s already working a 10-12 hour day, and can’t fathom adding anot
her 30 minutes of writing into a blog.
The great thing about a blog is its automated. You have access to your account manager 24/7, meaning you can sit down and write when you have the time, and when it fits into your schedule. So maybe you have an hour on Friday morning – write a few posts and get them into the system.
When you are writing a blog post, you have the option of placing in a date and time of when you want the post to be released. You can have it released immediately when you hit "publish" or you can post date it into the future. So if you have a half hour to spare, write a few posts and schedule one a day throughout the week.
The important thing is you are adding quality information that attracts your readers. When you post it isn’t important. It’s the frequency of the release.
Isn’t automation grand?

We can see it all in our heads. We start with a blog, have everyone follow us, make millions, and sell it to Google for a mint. Then retire to a tropical island and live happily ever after.
If I had a dime for every time I heard someone dream in that order, I could live on that tropical island myself.
But what most p
eople seem to forget is the order of their dreams. They see themselves on the island. They see themselves selling a business to Google. But what they don’t see is the sweat it takes to start and build the company.
You have to start with an idea, and you have to have a way of monetizing that idea to fulfill your dreams.
Creating the blog is easy. You can design it to look anyway you want. You can add your image. You can add beautiful photographs. But what is going to make people come back again and again?
Think of your blog a year from now. What will it look like? How will you be making money? Then work backwards.
If you have sponsorships, and people are paying you for advertising on your site, you have to have quality content to get your traffic up.
If you sell products, what type of people will buy your products and how will you get them to read your blog?
If you have Google Adsense on your site to make money through pay per clicks, do you have the traffic that can make the money you’re looking for?
Now that you know how you’re going to make money, it’s time to develop your content. Write Write Write
You may post the first 50 posts with no one reading. Don’t worry. That will come as long as you develop your content and your style. Never lose site of your long term goals, and keep it up every day.

Making Money With Your Blog
Filed Under How To Blog | Leave a Comment
If you’ve ever thought about blogging, (and even if this is a new concept to you) there are dozens of ways to get your blog into the mainstream. The first task is to get quality content into your site. The second task is to get your site noticed. Both can seem daunting if you’ve never blogged before.
That’s why we’re happy to announce our newest service – Blog Marketing Training Guide.
Blogs are very personal in nature. They help develop your ideas, your personality, and your character. But that doesn’t mean you can have a step-by-step guide that shows you how to put it all into place. I can attest to the effectiveness of blogging, as this is my fifth blog – and they’ve all brought me in business.
How Can A Blog Make Money?
Blogs can make money in a variety of ways.
First, you can create a blog to complement your products and services. Let’s say you are an accountant. Maybe your blog is filled with tips on managing your finances better, along with small tips for making your relationship with your accountant more efficient. People love your tips, and wind up using your services because they love your honesty and integrity – they resonate with you.
Or let’s say you have a hobby that would love to start a blog on, and make a little extra money on the side. You can find a variety of resources that will allow you to connect with them, and make money from their products and services. You simply blog about what you love about your hobby.
I have dozens of ideas for you – that’s what I cover in my own HowToBlogAboutYourBusiness blog. Make sure you sign up for my free RSS feed to stay on top of all my posts. And then consider signing up for my Blog Marketing Training Guide. I’ll share with you the exact methods me and dozens of other successful bloggers are using right now.
Whether you are looking to sell your own products and services, or want to add some new twists to your existing ideas, I’ll share ideas that will supercharge your business – and help you make money online.

Too much of a good thing is really too much.
Your blog is designed to share stories with your readers. They w
ant to know all about you. They want to know what you do. And they want to see what you do.
Instead of putting in 25 large photographs

make them smaller and imbed then into your text. Talk about your services. What made this event so special? How can you apply what you’ve done for this client to other prospects? That’s what people care about.
They want to be able to see what you do, and imagine you doing the same for them.
Be different.
Be creative.

Finding Your Focus
Filed Under How To Blog | Leave a Comment
You have a site. You have your marketing materials. You speak to prospects and clients regularly about your products and services. So why does it seem so hard to blog?
For many the idea of having to write continuously seems a little daunting. What are you going to write about? How can you keep it up week after week?
At first glance, it can be a bit scary. Especially if you aren’t a writer. But don’t fall into the trap of turning your blog into a home made site that has no focus. Concentrate on creating something that’s relevant to your readers.
Make it a goal to write two or three times per week, and establish your vision for your site ahead of time. Schedule your writing time into your weekly schedule ahead of time. Come up with your titles, and even write a few bullet points for each title. Sometimes its easier to sit down and come up with eight or ten ideas, and find a way to pull them all together.
Then throw in a bit of fun along the way. People like to read what you’re up to. If your at a conference that has relevance, share. Finding your human side can sometimes turn a prospect into a long term customer.

Getting Started With A Blog
Filed Under How To Blog | Leave a Comment
With any project you start, you always have to start at the beginning. For this blog, this post is the starting point.
Both Andrew and I have been blogging for years. We each post regularly on a variety of blogs. I’ve used free blogs, internal community blogs, and commercial blogs that we’ve designed and maintained in-house.
I’ve studied blogs, subscribe to a huge number of blogs using RSS feeds, and monitor many sites on a daily basis. I know what works, and more importantly what doesn’t.
This blog is designed to share all of that with you. While many people are teaching how to blog, and offer you the ability to start a blog, very few blogs go the extra step of showing you how to make money with your blog.
If you are a creative professional – a photographer, wedding professional, artist, author, consultant, solo professional, or other small business owner – this blog is for you. Together Andrew and I will share with you steps we’ve taken to design and maintain a blog, bring you the best resources for your business, and give you tips to keep blogging.
But for now, get out there. It all starts with the first post. And here is our first post…
